When You Support a Small Business, You’re Supporting a Dream

Introducing my #LocalLookout series where we meet some awesome entrepreneurs, discover incredible small businesses and support the local economy!

There’s going to be a huge shift towards supporting our local businesses. This is long overdue, but it’s safe to say that this global pandemic was a huge eye opener for our local businesses and our local entrepreneurs. There is no better time to shop local – the time is NOW.

Let’s not get our panties in a bunch, now. This series is meant to inspire you to seek local options and be more conscious of the things and the brands that you choose to spend your hard earned money on. I, just like most of you, also sometimes spend my money at Walmart, get Starbucks, or order from foreign online retailers. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t do this – I’m saying that you should simply keep your mind open to other possibilities and local alternatives.

Seeing as I work with and know a bunch of incredible local businesses, I decided to launch this #LocalLookout series to learn about these businesses and hear what the business owners behind them have to share about running a small business and everything that it entails.

BUT – don’t kid yourself, now. You didn’t think I was going to do this the medium way, did you?

We’re getting down to the nitty gritty. I want to feature local businesses. I want to share the spotlight with young entrepreneurs, female business moguls and third generation businesses. I want to talk about their peaks, and their pits. I want to know who they follow on Instagram, and I want to know where they like to eat, and what they like to drink. Because life is too short; we work hard, we play harder, and we share each other’s successes to lift each other up.

First up, I’m kicking off this series with Jade McLean of Your Life, My Lens Photography. Not only does she capture ALL of the most magical moments, but having beautiful pictures is an important part of your social media journey… and she’s the queen of all photography tings!
